Introduction

A screenshot of the insurer's website
Established in 1817 under the name Bank of New South Wales, it was the first bank in Australia. I think it will be hard for anybody else to beat that. Over the years and through many additions and acquisitions, in 1982 with Commercial Bank of Australia, it became known as Westpac Banking Corporation. In 1979, while still under the Bank of New South Wales name, they sponsored a helicopter Rescue Service that is known today as Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter Service. I know you're probably saying, all that's really great but, what about their insurance plans?
