If you are a young traveller and reckon that insurance companies should charge you cheaper for your policy because you won't be prone to much accident, then let me tell you that you are in luck. I just stumbled along to an insurance company called Under 30 Travel Insurance which has the mindset like you.

Features and Coverage

As the name suggest, this travel insurer is open to anyone below the age of 30. Under 30 Travel Insurance is operated by 1Cover, an online-only company that specialises in travel insurance. They have been known to be reliable, cheap and have businesses operating in several countries.

At the present moment, their website states that they only offer two types of insurance covers: Overseas and Domestic. So let us dig into more details about these two products and what are offered with them.

  • Overseas This is a comprehensive cover that will insure you from unlimited Overseas Emergency Medical Assistance and Overseas Emergency Medical Expenses. Other things you will be able to enjoy with this cover are: up to $50,000 of Additional Travel Expenses, Family Emergency and Emergency Companion Cover. You will be able to claim up to $25,000 Accidental Death and Permanent Disability. What really amazed me was the fact that you can get your Personal Liability covered for up to $5,000,000, which is a very generous amount.
  • Domestic Being covered for travels within Australia has fewer benefits than the Overseas package, but the few that remain the same are pretty similar. You will still be able to get the same $50,000 worth of Additional Expenses, Family Emergency and Emergency Companion Cover. Luggage can be claimed up to a grand, and Cancellation Fees up to $5,000.

After browsing through their covers and comparing them side by side, I reckon they are pretty decent and should be enough to keep your journey pleasant and safe. For more information regarding what is included in their policies, consider checking out their website on your own.
