About The Insurer

First a little background information so you know who Aussie is and where they came from. Aussie is a trading name of AHL Investments, an authorized representative of The Hollard Insurance Company. The company was founded in 1992 and is headquartered in Sydney, Australia. While through its affiliation with Hollard, Aussie is able to offer a full range of services from both personal and home loans, financial planning, credit cards and insurance, we will concentrate on the insurance portion. Not only can you get a loan for the house and land package you are interested, you can also insure your new house to keep yourself protected through them.

Aussie's slogan is "Put yourself in a better place". Aussie Insurance claims they are "focused on providing innovative, affordable and easy to understand insurance solutions". They offer a wide range of insurances and we will briefly explore them here.

The Covers

  • Life Insurance - Aussie offers Life Insurance for people from 18 through 64. With policies from $100,000 to $1 million, there's something that fits every budget and premiums start at $2.92 every two weeks for the $100,000 policy. They also include a free Will Kit and optional Children's Insurance up to $50,000.
  • Funeral Insurance - This insurance is available to residents from 18 through 79 and it never expires. There are policies to fit any budget, from $3,000 to $15,000 and triple benefits for accidental death, with premiums starting at $3.44. Again, like the Life Insurance policy you can pay bi-weekly and a free Will Kit is available. The policy never expires.
  • Accident Insurance - Accidents happen so it's better to be prepared. Aussie offers policies for residents from 18 through 69 and policies from $50,000 through $500,000. This coverage last until age 75. Again, like their other policies you can pay bi-weekly and a free Will Kit is available.
  • Home Insurance - Your home is usually your biggest asset and something you need to protect. Aussie offers two types of coverage;
    • Top Home & Contents - This policy covers your home for fire, theft, vandalism, storm earthquakes and up to $10 million in liability. You have the option of setting your excess payment between $100 and $1,000 to reduce your premiums. Coverage for items in transit is included.
    • Essential Home & Contents - This policy is for the budget conscious. While offering the same main protection as the Top Home & Contents, it does not include cover for items in transit and the cover levels are lower for most items.
